The Gold Coast Marathon. Renowned for its picturesque route, enthusiastic crowd support, and its ability to attract runners from around the globe to this iconic flat and fast event. Taking place over the weekend of July 6-7, 2024, the event drew elite athletes, casual runners, and dedicated supporters to the Gold Coast across eight individual races, including the Buildcare team of 2024.
This year marked the third consecutive year of Buildcare’s participation in the GCM, with 26 runners taking part over the weekend in what has become one of the highlight weekends of the year for all involved.
Despite the rain on the Saturday morning, we had 14 participants complete the Half-Marathon, as well as 5 competitors taking on the junior dash!
Sunday greeted competitors with more of the classic Gold Coast conditions as former NRL player and Buildcare ambassador Aidan Guerra aimed to complete the Full Marathon alongside Ryan Hucherko.
After more than 4 gruelling hours on their feet both runners completed the course with Aidan and Ryan finishing with times of 4 Hours 36 minutes and 4 Hours and 9 minutes respectively.

In addition to the support from our generous sponsors, the Buildcare team was able to raise over $10k in additional funds and finished in 17th place out of more than 100 Charities who competed across the weekend to raise money for their causes.
